There is growing uncertainty regarding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford, despite the club remaining adamant that it won't sell its priced asset.

This is after it had emerged that Ronaldo had asked the club to allow him leave in search of champions league football.

Nevertheless, new manager Erik Ten Hag is believed to have identified Ajax winger Antony as an ideal replacement for the wavering Portuguese striker. Who is reported to have urged the club to give a potential buyer humble time by lowering his asking price.

Daily Mail reported that the Brazilian winger will cost United a fee close to £70 million.

Having worked with the player at Ajax, United had targeted the attacker albeit he doesn't come closer to Ronaldo's prowess. As evidenced by his 18 goals in 30 premier league matches. Source/Courtesy.

Ten Hag believes that the 22 year-old, is able to conjure things and turn around United's fortune even if he can't match Ronaldo's scoring ability.

Meanwhile the Portuguese is set to return to pre-season training on Monday and it's believed that the Dutch tactician will have an opportunity to speak with him regarding his future at Old Trafford.
