All eyes are set on the forthcoming champions league final match between Chelsea and Manchester City. Before that, there will be a good number of English premier league matches that will be played. Manchester City have less worries in their last EPL match unlike Chelsea. The Blues will be facing the rruthles Aston Villa who want to get more points in the league. Thomas Tuchel will have no option but to go for a win less he drops out of top four!City might play their team B against Everton. That will clearly give room for some player to rest ahead of UCL. We all know that Chelsea are less advantaged in the matches ahead due to divided attention. We saw Tuchel bench N'Golo Kante the other day; not because he was injured but maybe for reasons best known to them. They really need Kante in the finals. Even Pep Guardiola knows the quality this Frenchman bring forth. For another moment Tuchel will have to choose wisely between a squad to face Aston Villa and the other that will battle City. The one to face City should be stronger as compared to the other.
Manchester City is not a squad that can be written off that easily. This is the title they have been fighting for for a while now. I can't imagine how Pep will prey on Tuchel if he makes mistakes. Timo Werner is one of the players that should be excluded in the UCL team. He is fond of missing open chance at times when the club and fans really need a goal. Why should Thomas take a gamble with such an inconsistent player?
Kepa Arrizabalaga is not the man to entrust with goalkeeping duties. It is as a result of poor positioning at the goalposts that made it quite easy for Tielemans to score the only goal in FA final. Chelsea fans are not ready to lose another final match just because of small mistakes. I will count it a lost one for Chelsea immediately I see Timo and Arrizabalaga in the lineup.
According to me, this is how the two should lineup if we want a thrilling encounter:
Chelsea's Possible UCL finals squad:
Mendy; Azpilicueta (c), Christensen, Rudiger; James, Kante, Gilmour, Alonso; Ziyech, Abraham, Pulisic
Substitutes: Kepa, Emerson, Livramento, Zouma, Jorginho, Havertz, Hudson-Odoi, Werner, Giroud
Manchester City's possible UCL finals lineup: Ederson; Dias, Laporte, Ake, Joao Cancelo, Rodri, Mendy, Torres, Aguero, Sterling (c), Gabriel Jesus
Substitutes: Steffen, Walker, Zinchenko, Garcia, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Bernando Silva, Foden, Mahrez
