Although it will be difficult for two comparatively inexperienced youngsters to break into this roster of established stars, Ten Hag has done excellent job with young players throughout his time at Ajax.
The Dutch tactician has made it plain that he will be willing to promote United's young players rather than relying solely on reputation, which is positive for the club's supporters who are hoping this will signal the beginning of a new era.
Promoting from the academy once more may be a welcome return to what used to make the club so successful because relying on big names hasn't worked out too well in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
