The West London outfits have surprisingly showed their interest once again in signing Jules Kounde from Sevilla and the blues have made him a top priority, and they are eager to complete the deal as soon as possible.
Thomas Tuchel was interested in signing Kounde last summer but the deal failed to go through. Despite the failure last season, the blues were back for the defender when the window opened and are now willing to pay his £78m release clause.
The blues halted their interest in the Frenchman when Barcelona seemed to be his likely destination. The blues therefore looked for alternatives with interests in dutch pair Matthijs de Ligt and Nathan Ake as the perfect center back partnership.
The blues pursuit for Jules Kounde had been quiet for a few days but reports claim that the blues have returned to the front in the last few hours. And according to reliable sources the blues are eager to finalize the deal with Todd Boehly functioning effortlessly since taking over.
Due to the fact that Todd Boehly was able to agree a deal for Raphinha despite interest from other clubs, Chelsea fans will be confident that Todd Boehly can close deals despite interests from other clubs.
It is believed that Tuchel wants the France international at Chelsea so that he can employ Reece James in the right wing back role and Kounde as a right wing back.
