Chelsea’s new goalkeeper talks at a 'crucial stage'

Chelsea’s plans to have a new goalkeeper were stanced by the poor form of Kepa Arrizabalaga. We can all agree that the Spanish stopper had the worst season of his career under Lampard. Peter Cech has been backing him saying he has the potential. He remarked that Kepa was going to stay and just gain some confidence. Cech offered to train Kepa to pick his form. On his interview with TALK SPORT, he hinted of bringing a new goalkeeper who will compete with Kepa.

Chelsea scouts were sent to all leagues to identify a good shot stopper. Jan Oblack came top of the wishlist. He however had a huge release clause that barred Chelsea from completing his deal. Atletico Madrid were reluctant too because his contract was not running out. Ajax stopper Onana also appeared as a potential candidate. He was just valued at £40 million. Long term stopper Donarumma who has 5 year experience came on the list buy the fee was unreal.

Chelsea have now persisted their focus on Reenes goalkeeper Eduord Mendy. He is 28 years and will provide meaningful competition to Kepa. The first Chelsea bid was rejected. They submitted the second and it was rejected too. Reenes want a minimum of £30 million. Chelsea are hopefully going to sign him with the leadership of Marina.

Chelsea fans what is your opinion on Mendy as Kepa's competitor?
