RC Lens have been informed that Arsenal are interested in signing their midfield dynamo Cheick Doucoure on a permanent deal in the summer. The players agent has also been notified of the rumor but no formal contact has been so far. It is believed that Arsenal are currently exploring their alternatives in the summer and Doucoure is among a long list of players considered as Xhaka’s back up. Apart from being left footed like Xhaka, Doucoure has a lighting pace that has proven relevant in counter attacks for the French outfit.
Arsenal have decided that signing Doucoure will be permanent because they believe that loaning him to the club will attract unprecedented attention from other clubs in Europe once he returns back to his parent club. The player has been very humble about the reports and has told the reporters that he is still focused on playing for Lens but he is eager to see what is in store for him in the future.
Arsenal have decided that William Saliba will stay at the club next season after two years of being sent out on loan. Mikel Arteta said that the motive behind sending Saliba out was to expose him to other top flight leagues so that he can gain more experience. This announcement was made a week after the Frenchman said that he wanted to go back to Marseille in order to play in the Champions League next season.
Marseille have decided to stand with the player after the club’s president, Jaime Perraud, vowed to bid for the defender in the summer. “We respect Arsenal so much and we have a good relationship with them. They have helped us a lot in recent years but our interest in Saliba is worth fighting for. I hope we win the battle in the summer.”
Albert Sambi Lokonga
Albert Sambi Lokonga’s future at Arsenal is not sitting quite well at the moment particularly with how overlooked he has been in the past few months. If anything is going to change about his future, it has to happen in the summer. Being sent out on loan is an option but the club is not yet ready to consider such an alternative.
