Kericho: Koibeyot Residents Decry Prolonged Power Outage

For over one month now, residents from Koibeyot area in Kapsaos Ward, Ainamoi Constituency have been without electricity after a transformer supply power in the area broke down. Despite efforts to persuade the legal authority to reinstate the transformer, residents have always been told to wait a little longer.

Following this prolonged power outage, students have found it difficult to study from their homes. According to a local platform, residents from the area had opted to seek aid from Kapsaos Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Hon. Cheruiyot Bett in vain. The residents are now appealing to their Parliamentary representative Hon. Sylvanus Maritim to get the problem fixed.

Well, over the past couple of years, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) have in most cases failed in faster delivery of services. Otherwise, other KPLC officials have opted to get illegally paid in order to ensure faster provision of services.
