Why Cristiano Ronaldo CR7 is a Trademark Brand

Following his departure from Manchester united twelve years ago, the Portugal international was wearing the iconic number seven jersey. He won several silverware with the veteran tactician Sir Alex Ferguson together with his current coaches Ole Gunnar and Carrick.

Ronaldo wore the number seven jersey throughout his playing career at Old Trafford which saw him guiding the red devils to English glory and European supremacy.

He later joined Real Madrid on an eighty million euro fee which was the record-breaking transfer fee of a century at that time. When he arrived there, things were a bit different the famous jersey number was taken by the then legend Raul. He had to settle for the number nine jersey surprisingly he netted thirty-five goals in that season later Raul left the club and the Portuguese international returned to his number seven jersey.

After winning three successive champions league titles, he decided to switch to Juventus. There was immense tension at the if the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will be given his preferred jersey number. But astonishingly, Juan Cuadrado willingly gave him the jersey number. Which saw many fans in Turin thank Cuadrado for his humility towards the new teammate which signalled the beginning of a new dawn in Turin.

Last week dramatic comeback to Old Trafford again has seen Edison Cavani giving him the trademark jersey. This is a clear indication that Christiano Ronaldo preferred jersey number is not just a number but a trademark that he uses as CR7. He has even launched his businesses bearing the name CR7 for example the CR7 Hotels which is a group if hotels spread across Portugal and Europe at large. So any team he goes to play he must convince his colleagues to allow him to wear his brand to woo the audience and more so the clients.
