Luis Suarez had earlier showed his will and determination to score against his former side but indicated that he would not celebrate. On the matchday, Suarez was the main man as he was involved in two goals in the first half that turned decisive. He was largely involved in Atletico's opener in the 23rd minute as he found Thomas Lemar with a through ball who finished past Barca's goalkeeper.
Suarez doubled the lead after finishing in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper before finishing with aplomb. Suarez stayed true to his word as he refused to celebrate.
It is clear that despite the fact he was 'mistreated' prior to his move out of camp nou, the team still means a great deal to him.
