From the face value of things, it seems that William Saliba intends on joining Marseille on a permanent deal in the summer. Saliba recently made it clear that he intends to return back to Marseille to play in the Champions League next season. Arsenal on the other hand failed to qualify for the prestigious competition and it seems that his desire to return to his parental club has taken a devastating twist. Mikel Arteta is not worried about Saliba’s change of heart and will talk it out with him in the next few days.
Saliba has been a colossus for Marseille throughout this season and owing to that alone, he deserves a second chance at the French club. The problem however is that Marseille do not have adequate funds to completely tie him at the club so the best they can do is to request for a second loan spell.
Lucas Torreira’s deal to join Fiorentina on a permanent deal has taken a volatile twist after Fiorentina failed to trigger his buy out clause. Reports from Italy have indicated that Fiorentina are not in the best economic situation to trigger his buyout clause but are currently negotiating with Arsenal for new terms of payment. Meanwhile, Torriera has brushed off rumors about not joining the Italian giants on a permanent deal by posting a picture of him wearing a Fiorentina jersey.
While the negotiations continue, Torreira will return back to Arsenal and probably have a chat with Mikel Arteta and the club’s board about his future. There is no doubt that Fiorentina want to sign him but if the deal is not right, Arsenal will have no choice but to put up with him.
Albert Sambi Lokonga
Albert Sambi Lokonga played in yesterday’s scintillating match and boy! Did he play like there was no tomorrow! Mikel Arteta was very happy with the perfomance of the 23 year old and considering that he came on a substitute for Xhaka, there is a high chance that he might be the Swiss’ number 2 next season.
