The Uefa Champions League has unveiled the team of the week following the completion of the first leg matches if the round of 16 games. Quite a number of teams grabbed wins with some struggling. Real Madrid and Napoli players dominate the team of the week selection. Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema leads the attack as the centre forward alongside Victor Osimhen of Napoli, the duo netted incredible goals for their teams. A brace from Benzema helped Madrid win against their familiar rivals Liverpool with Osimhen's tap-in goal sealing the win for Napoli in Germany.
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior have also been included in the team of the week, both wingers were prolific for their teams with Vinicius netting two first half goals to hand Real Madrid a major boost against Liverpool. Meanwhile Mohamed Salah capitalised Real Madrid goalkeeper's mistake to put Liverpool ahead before Madrid's major comeback.
In the midfield Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez and Napoli's Lozano dominate, Mahrez was outstanding for Manchester City on Wednesday night when they faced Leipzig in Germany. Napoli's Dilorenzo, Minjae Kim, Leipzig's Gvardiol and Real Madrid's Nacho were incredible defensively. Frankfurt goalkeeper Trapp has been selected at the most outstanding goalkeeper in the just completed matchweek despite conceding two goals against Napoli on Tuesday night.
