Odegard's Free-kick Breaks Arsenal's First half ' Curse ' as Mane Gets into Football Books of Record

The 2021/22 season has not been a good one for the Gunners family so far. Arteta is however rebuilding trust from fans as he works for better results. After an amazing performance against Norwich in match week 4 the Gunners have finally scored their second goal of the season.

The goal came at the first half away fixture against Burnley. Martin Odegard scored a magical goal through a free-kick. Saka was brought down on the edge of the box by WestWood in the 30th minute. Wood was booked and a foul awarded to the Gunners at a dangerous position.

Odegard left foot curled an effort into the top left corner to put the visitors in front. Not the wall nor goalkeeper Pope could be in a position to stop Odegard's marvelous strike.

The Gunners have now scored the first goal in first half since the 2021/22 season begun. Definitely it is another 'curse' broken by Mikel Arteta men after yet scoring the first ever goal of the season last weekend against Norwich.

Apparently, the Gunners confidence is coming back as they look too slowly to adopt to their famous past good scoring records. They however need to be more willing and ready to hold any pressure and competition brought up by any opponents faced.

Elsewhere, at Anfield, Sadio Mane scored a very essential goal at the dying minutes of the first half against Crystal Palace.

Mane has now scored nine continuos times against Crystal Palace. No other player has ever scored such a number of goals against one team in consecutive meetings, no one has done that in Premier League history.

Apparently, the Senegalese has now scored 100 goals for Liverpool. His goal against Crystal Palace today became his 100th goal for the Reds. He joins another African Mohammed Salah to reach such an incredible number of goals for Liverpool.

In other news, Brentford's first half double were enough to clinch the newly promoted side 3 points from Wolverhampton. This was really a surprising result. Fans left with only one question, ' why do Wolves play good football against top flight teams and get frustrated by averagely ranked teams?" Interestingly, Wolves barely made a shot on target throughout the match.
