Ruben Loftus-Cheek has given his honest opinion on his teammate, Eduard Mendy. The Senegalese shot-stopper is at 30 and still the Blues' number one goalkeeper. Mendy impressed during a thrilling victory over Leicester City, and he was applauded by his teammates.
The blues midfielder believes that Mendy is a vocal player on the pitch and he uses his authority to make crucial communication. Ruben Loftus-Cheek told the club website after the win over Leicester on Saturday, "He [Mendy] was incredible. One blunder doesn't deter him; he's ready to go again. That's what a champion does."
"Ed is a fantastic leader on the field, and you can always hear his voice behind you, which is fantastic, and his goalkeeping ability is obviously fantastic. He's a huge asset to the team."
Ruben was in the starting lineup against Bredan Rodgers, and he contributed positively to the team. The 26-year-old has had a fantastic start to the season after being reintroduced into the first team squad by Thomus Tuchel.
He is gaining confidence and is liked by Chelsea's boss because of his versatility, which adds another dimension to the team. Ruben has been tested as a right wing-back and a central holding midfielder, and he has performed admirably in both positions thus far.
