Paul Scholes Names World Cup Player He Wishes He Could Have Played With

To say Casemiro has been a typical Manchester United signing would be an understatement; the £59 million summer signing has literally won the hearts of the majority of Manchester United fans. If you're a Red Devil and still don't like what Casemiro has brought to United, it's possible that you're the problem. Even Paul Scholes, arguably United's best midfielder ever, recently admitted that if he had to choose which current United midfielder he'd like to play alongside, he'd pick Casemiro.

Scholes says, "It’s quite an easy question because of the style of play. I’d much prefer to play with Casemiro, somebody who I knew could play the position really well. He probably reminds me of [Michael] Carrick, [Nicky] Butt, Roy Keane, and those types of players."

On why he wouldn't enjoy playing alongside Bruno Fernandes, who's also been a force to be reckoned with in United's midfield, Scholes added, "With Bruno, I think we would be all over the place, and us two together in midfield would be an absolute disaster.

"Just both of us would want to be up the field, contributing and scoring goals and trying to win games.

"Look, if I had to choose out of the two, it would have to be Casemiro."

There's no denying that Casemiro (along with Eriksen) has transformed Manchester United's midfield from mediocre to one of the best in the Premier League. Notably, the 30-year-old has carried his brilliant form into the Qatar World Cup, where he has arguably been the standout midfielder.
