Theo James Walcott has been at Everton after joining the club from Arsenal in 2018. In October 2020, he returned to his academy club Southampton on a temporary deal for the current 2020-2021 PL season. He has made 22 appearances and scored three goals.
He is to sign a two-year contract after his current deal with the Merseyside club expires at the end of June.
The 32-year-old Englishman burst onto the football scene in 2005 making his first-team debut at the age of only 16.
Theo proceeded to London in 2006 spending a 12-year spell at Arsenal before transferring to Everton in January 2018.
Southampton FC through its official Twitter handle made the announcement saying, "SaintsFC is delighted to announce it has reached an agreement in principle with @theowalcott for him to return to the club permanently."
On his return to the childhood club, Theo Walcott said, "I’m not sure I can properly express how happy I am about this. Southampton is a club that means so much to me, and it has been incredibly special for me to have spent this season back at St Mary’s."
He added, "I would like to say a huge thank you to the club, my teammates and the fans for making me feel so welcome back here, and I can’t wait to continue pulling on the shirt in the next couple of seasons."
He also thanked everyone at Everton for the time he has been with them and wished them all the best.
