As reports suggest, Erik Ten Hag wants to strengthen Man United's midfield before moving to other positions. Frenkie de Jong is currently Man United's top target and Ten Hag wants him at all cost.
The Dutch midfielder could possibly cost Manchester United around £75m as Barcelona wants to recover the money they paid for him from Ajax.
However, there is no need to waste funds on signing Frenkie de Jong as Man United already have a cheap alternative who has the potential to perform what De Jong could have done.
This is Hannibal Mejbri. The 19-year old Tunisian midfielder has been playing for Man United's under 23 team but he's in consideration to be promoted to the first team as from next season, and with his brilliant performance, he actually deserves it.
Mejbri at 19 but he has already received two call-ups for Tunisia national senior team and he has also featured in the starting line up. He has also played for Man United's senior team and his performance showed that he's actually one of the best upcoming stars for the Red Devils.
As Ten Hag is known for building and mentoring young players, then he could transform Mejbri into one of the brightest star and save them £75m that they want to pay for Frenkie de Jong.
