Kenyan football has been having challenges in the recent past. This is after the ministry of sports called for an audit on the Federation that runs Kenyan football. Despite all that, football games have been ongoing especially the Kenyan Premier League.
In other news, Kenya Women Premier League side Vihiga Queens were out today as they played their first game in the CAF Women Champions League. The ladies gave a great performance despite losing by a solitary goal. They were up against South African club Mamelodi Sundowns.
Before the match began, many deemed the Kenyan girls as under dogs. A tag that proved to be useless, they displayed a good game and even almost grabbed an Equalizer in the dying minutes of the game. Fortunately, Lilian Awour grabbed a woman of the match performance.
This is after she made outstanding saves to keep the Queens alive in the big match. She was awarded the accolade after the match ended. It is important to note that Vihiga Queens were making a debut in the competition after qualifying through winning the CECAFA championship some months ago.
