Arteta Has Got His Hands On An Incredible Attacker: He Likes To Score Goals

Arsenal scored the fewest goals among the teams that finished in the top five in the Premier League last season (61). Lacazette and Aubameyang, who were tasked with scoring the vital goals, failed to deliver. With Arsenal's natural strikers failing to impress, Arteta was expected to sign a striker this summer who could convert the numerous chances created by Arsenal's "playmakers," Saka, Martinelli, and Odegaard.

One could argue that with the acquisition of Gabriel Jesus, Arteta's need for a reliable striker has been met. Arsenal legend Paul Merson has praised Jesus' move to the club.

As quoted by Just Arsenal, Merson told Sky Sports: "He’s a good player, but he misses chances. But I like players that get into good positions to miss chances. He doesn’t hide, he’s a centre-forward and likes scoring goals.

"They needed someone like Jesus. They only had Nketiah. You need more than one centre-forward. I think Jesus ticks all the boxes. I think it is a major, major coup for Arsenal Football Club."

Do you believe Gabriel will be a success at the Emirates, as Merson claims? (Just Arsenal)
