Athletes in Kenya have always been treasured for carrying the country's flag high in international competitions. Therefore, Kenya for long time has been regarded as a home of champions, courtesy of athletes who always come from Rift Valley region.
However, today one of the athlete, Damaris Muthee Mutua, has been found murdered in her house in Iten Town. The upcoming young athlete aged 24 years old, was allegedly murdered by an Ethiopian colleague identified as Koki Fai. It's reported that Koki flew to his homeland after the incident.
Damaris is a Kenya but running for a foreign country. Her body was found a man's house at Lillys estate. This was after her fellows alerted the police on being notified by the killer, who called from foreign country saying he had committed the murder.
Police have launched investigation over the case as the scene was sealed off. It is indeed a sombre situation for such young Kenyan to lose her life.
