Chelsea Goalkeeper Eduardo Mendy is The First Player To Do This in The EPL This Season

As Chelsea extended their unbeaten record in week four matches against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, Senegalese goalkeeper Eduardo Mendy on the other side extended his premier league record of registering the highest number of saves.

The goalkeeper had his third clean sheet of the season, being the only player who has not conceded a goal from open play. He only conceded a penalty against Liverpool that saw them draw 1-1 despite the team running for more than 4t minutes with one player less.

Mendy recorded six saves in this match and once again against Aston Villa, he recorded the same number of saves, getting a total now of 16 saves in his four matches this season. He is now the first goalkeeper to do so as nobody else has attained more than 15 saves.

Chelsea the currently second in the premier league table with 10 points, level with table leaders Manchester United who also won 4-1 against Newcastle United.
