On Saturday, comedian Arap Uria finally got to meet English football commentator Peter Drury, who has long been his admiration.
Uria, who gained notoriety for lip-syncing Drury's commentary on Tik Tok, met the commentator in Qatar after making a request for a meeting on Twitter on Friday. Drury is a legendary commentator known for his expressive and literate style of commentary.
Kenyans on Twitter took notice of his petition and rushed to the platform to call on Drury to grant Uria's request. Drury trended in Kenya throughout the majority of Saturday thanks to their efforts.
Irish football analyst Jim Beglin saw Uria's tweet as well and volunteered to set up a meeting between the two.
