Chelsea will be crossing over to Italy for an away EUFA Champions League second group stage fixture against Juventus. The predicted competitive battle will be played on Wednesday night.
Reports from both camps had got discouraging news for either of the two sides. In a weekend Serie A fixture against Spezia, Juve's Argentine goal hunter Paulo Dybala walked out in tears as he got injured in first half.
Former Blues striker Alvaro Morata will also miss out of the Wednesday battle after he picked up an injury from Spezia. The Old Lady's manager, Maximiliano Allegri announced that the duo won't be available.
Bad news from Stamford Bridge state that France midfield maestro Ng'olo Kante has been ruled out of the Blues travelling squad. In a press conference Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Kante has tested positive for COVID19. Ng'olo had to be isolated for some days until he tests negative.
It has been a season full of misfortunes for Ng'olo Kante. He has faced a number of injuries and has had little playing time so far. Definitely, he is Chelsea's midfield backbone and the Blues must be so disturbed to receive such sad news just before a hard Champions League battle.
However, Tuchel left some hopes concerning Reece James injury. During an EPL Chelsea Man City fixture, Reece walked out in pain in first half. Tuchel said that James requires one more week to recover.
Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic will also be unavailable on Wednesday. Concerning their injuries, it is not clear on when the duo will be back in action.
Chelsea's misfortunes come at a time when each player is needed by the team. The Blues have got several local and international titles to chase for hence club rotation is very necessary. Team fitness is one of the success determinants hence Chelsea's focus is in serious temptations.
