The Kenyan top flight football professional league, Betking premier league is holding midweek fixtures this week to cover up for the time wasted during the three week break.
In this regards, the standings in the table have changed after the Wednesday fixtures were executed. Before we look at the table, let's see the results of the games played on Wednesday.
Vihiga Bullets misery in their new league continued as they were hammered 3-0 at home by Kariobangi Sharks. Kenya Police FC finally got their first win of the season after thrashing past Nzoia sugar 3-1.
In the first leg 'mashemeji' derby of the season which was played at Safaricom Sports Center Kasarani, Gor Mahia made it two wins in two after they beat AFC Leopards 1-0. Bandari United who had won their first two opening matches found it rough in the hands of Posta Rangers after they got clobbered 2-0 at home.
Talanta FC and KCB FC shared spoils in a 1-1 draw as there was also no winner in the Ulinzi Stars vs Bidco United match after both teams scoring one goal each.
Finally, Mathare United got their first win of the season which they desperately needed after they thrashed Sofapaka 2-1.This means Mathare won't be at the bottom of the table anymore.
After these results, Ulinzi stars now move to the top of the table with 7 points displacing Bandari FC who remains with six points after three games. On the second place is Posta rangers and third place Kariobangi sharks with both having six points but difference in goals scored and conceded.
Gor Mahia despite having a game in hand are fifth with six points in two matches. Closing the top six is Kakamega Homeboyz who have also acquired six points in two games.
Tusker who have only played one game are at the bottom of the table with no point since they lost their first match of the season 1-0 to Gor Mahia. Vihiga bullets who have only a single point out of possible nine are 17th same as Nzoia sugar who are 16th.
