Barcelona first choice Gerard Pique suffered a grade three knee ligament sprain and an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament against Atletico Madrid at the end of November, this could rule him out until April. Koeman has been forced to scout a proper replacement into the January transfer market to pick up and he is widely eyeing the premier league.
Defender Rudiger has been included in the Barcelona's shortlist ahead of January transfer. Rudiger is out of favor at Chelsea after Lampard putting him in bench after arrival of Thiago Silva. The 27-year old who has made 115 appearances across all the three seasons at Stamford Bridge.
This season 2020/2021 has made one appearance in the absence of Thiago Silva. Rudiger said after he returned to the starting line up for recent win over Newcastle:" I'm satisfied with how the situation has developed in the past weeks. I had a tough time, so also checked other transfer options but I received positive signals from the coaching team."
Is it time Chelsea allow Rudiger to go and shine at Barcelona? Comment your view below. Don't forget to like and follow my page for more football and sports updates.
