Arsenal has had problems with its goalkeeping department in the recent past with their second choice goalie Mat Ryan's contract set to expire this season while Runarsson's form is something to worry about.
The Chronicles had reported earlier this month that the Gunners' top target was Freddie Woodman who will be replacing Runarsson between the sticks.
However, while speaking to The Northern Echo with a citation from HITC, the Newcastle player who is on loan to Swansea said he would like to remain at the club where he has spent two seasons.

“I hope this isn’t the last game I play in a Swansea shirt. The main thing is to sort out my next step – if that’s in a Swansea shirt then brilliant, but if it’s not, I have to crack on and that’s football,” he said.
The 24-year-old was tasked to keep the goals away from the net in a Championship playoff game against Brentford but luck wasn't on his side as first-half goals from Ivan Toney and Marcondes were enough to take their opponents to the Premier League.
