Gor Mahia have started off to an impressive start after they beat last season's second place finishers in a 2:1 win.
Bearing in mind the number of new signings that had been brought to the team, there was only one result that could be expected and that's exactly what they did.New signings such as Peter Lwasa, Yangayay and Bonface Omondi were in the initial starting line up while goalkeeer Adama Keita was an unused substitute.
Benson Omalla put Gor Mahia ahead with two quick fire goals that ensured KCB could not launch a comeback any more. The youngster scored in the ninth minute and then went on to add a second one in the eleventh minute.
KCB got their consolation courtesy of Henry Onyango. The first half ended 2:1 however as KCB got what would later be their consolation goal. This results has now put Gor Mahia at the top of the table.
