The African Cup of Nations Qualifiers (AFCON) is set to kick off sooner few days after the end of 2021/22 season in most of the European Football Competitions. This will see African players flying back into their respective countries to prepare competitive squads.
However, Arsenal football club has raised great concern on the health of their midfield maestro Thomas Partey, who missed selections in five consecutive fixtures that the club played towards the end of the season due to a knee Injury.
Despite appearing in the training days before Arsenal hosted Everton at Emirates in the final match of the previous season, the Black Star captain, according to football London, is still unfit to show up for his national team.
As a result, Arsenal have presented their request to the Ghana FA to exempt Thomas Partey from playing Ghana’s next 2 Africa Cup Of Nations Qualifiers. This is to allow the player to fully recover and regain his fitness. The club hopefully aim to have the player physically fit before the pre-season matches begin as they count more on him at the Midfield.
