Liverpool Advance To The Finals After Knocking Out Manchester City While Totenham Stumble

The 2019/20 English Premier League winners thrashed Manchester City in the FA cup semi-finals to advance to the finals. The reds scored three first half goals that gave them control over their opponents. Twenty two year old French centre back Ibrahima Konate scored a great headed goal for Liverpool to give them a one goal advantage early in the game.

During the seventeenth minute, Sadio Mane took advantage of Zack Steffen's dawdling on the ball and closed him down. The United States International goalkeeper could only watch the ball divert into the net.

Just before half-time, Sadio Mane concluded the match results by converting Thiago Alcantara's world class cross and superbly kicking into the net.

Pep Guardiola's men could only manage to bring back two goals. Jack Grealish started the scoreline for the premier league's title defenders. Bernado Silva scored an extra time goal to make it 3-2. It was however too little too late for the blue lions as they were eventual knocked out of the competition at Wembley.

"Today is special - we were playing one of the best teams in the world. To win this kind of game, especially in a semi-final, is a big, big, big win," said Sadio Mane in a post match interview.

The reds will face either Chelsea or Crystal Palace in the FA cup final. The final game is expected to take place on 14th May this year at Wembley Stadium.

In an early English Premier League clash, Tottenham conceded one painful goal against Brighton. Brighton's Leandro Trossard scored a last-gasp winner leaving Antonio Conte's men devastated. The Spurs are still fourth on the Premier league table. Manchester United and Arsenal are closely following the Spurs and are just three points behind them.
