Borussia Dortmund may have lost hope in extending Reus’ and Hummel’s contracts but that reaction will not be witnessed in Jude Bellingham. According to Sebastian Kehl, the club’s football director, the club is still pursuing ways of convincing the talented midfielder to extend his contract. They are hoping against hope that the player will accept new terms that will be proposed in the next couple of weeks.
“We are still keen on making Bellingham a permanent asset at the club. Our plans have not changed and I believe the player knows that very well. We want to maintain certain quality of players in the squad and Bellingham’s one of them. We really like him to stay for the future,” explained the manager.

Bellingham’s potential move to Manchester United has rocked a lot of waves lately in the squad. Fans believe that Incase the 23 year old joins the fold next season, Fred should be shown the door because he has been at the club far too long to not have reached his full potential. Although this view is not shared by the majority of the fan base, some of the reasons given to kick out the player from the club were valid.

My opinion
Casemiro has been a key figure for Manchester United this season and without him the club would probably be trailing in the league table. His presence in the starting eleven has been more than reassuring for the entire squad despite his slow start to the season at the club. Erik Ten Hag now sees him as an indispensable member of the starting eleven.

Pairing Casemiro and Bellingham in midfield is definitely going to be a match made in heaven for Manchester United. Even if it costs Fred, McTominay and Sabitzer their positions at the club, I believe it would be worthwhile to experiment on it. The real problem at the moment would be to get the deal over the line.
