The just concluded premier season had its own interesting facts and stats. According to sky sports football (https://www.skysports.com/football)here are my favorite stats as the league dramatically came to an end last Sunday.
Most likely you could have missed this given how phenomenal Liverpool were. In fact, the Reds came within minutes of winning the premier league at the expense of City. Although United endured one of their worst premier league seasons, they spent more days at the English premier league summit than Liverpool. The Red Devils were at the top for a total of 14 days while Liverpool managed only 11 days.
2) No Outfield Player Played All The Minutes
Premier League football is very demanding both physically and mentally. So it is quite difficult for outfield players to play every minute. However, it was only goalkeepers who managed to achieve this feat. There were only 2, that is Hugo Loris and De Gea. Matty Cash of Aston Villa came short of playing every minute of the 2021/2022 season by 40 minutes.
3) Newcastle Dramatically Improved In The Later Stage Of The Season
Just before Xmas, Newcastle were relegation candidates. However, after new year's day, knowing what could befall them, the Magpies went on an winning streak hence why only Liverpool and Man City collected more points than them in 2022.
4) Man United Had A Weaker Defense Than Relegated Burnley
Manchester United endured one of their worst seasons in premier league history. They finished 6th but conceded more goals than Burnley who were relegated.
Which is your favorite 2021/22 premier league season stat?Leave it in the comments section below.
