Chelsea new signing Saul Niguez will be making his debut on weekend playing against Aston Villa. He joined the blues on loan from Athletico. Saul made his feelings known, according to express, by taking a swipe at Diego for playing him out of his position. Chelsea took him on a loan with a possibility of making his arrival permanent by signing him, an option that Athletico considered.
Saul clearly wants to stay at Bridge given that he has his hopes high that Thomas Tuchel will play him in his exact position. Something he never got to enjoy while in madrid. The spain international admitted that frustration was creeping in while he was at La Liga for being played out of position.
When Madrid had their games, Diego played Saul wide in a wing back position something that he didn't appreciate. “Chelsea has promised me to train in my position [midfield], but to play we will see.
“To return to certain roles that I do not play in now – that is the most important reason for my decision.
“This transfer is a step out of my comfort zone for me. I believe that you will see a new Saul in a new [better] place.” Chelsea have quite a good number of midfielders including Ngolo Kante, Jorghino,Mateo Kovacic,Mount and now Saul. For him to stay, he will have to prove that he's worth benching some of these players at one point. Maybe through good performance, Chelsea will consider making his dreams to stay at Starmford Bridge come true.
