Kenyan defender Eric Ouma was voted as man of the match after his exploits in the Swedish allavaskan match played yesterday. The left back helped his side AIK to beat Gotenberg 1.0 to go second on the table.Ouma was tenacious throughout the match providing crosses for the forwards. His performance could reflect last season's performance where he was voted among the best defenders of the season. He has been deployed in both flanks to provide the much needed balance in the team. The 25year old has been linked with a move away from Swedish allavaskan side, if he continues working tremendously, his next move could be a bigger one.We wish him all the best ahead.Other Kenyans, Collins Shichenje and Henry Meja did not make the travelling squad. Collins has been working on his visa while Meja is facing a stiff competition from experienced players in the team.We hope both players will feature for the side in the coming days.
Yesterday, Ferdinand Omanyala beat all odds to win the Kipkeino Classics event in 100 metres, the Kenyan speedster beat the likes of Fred Kerley who came into the race with a better record as compared to Omanyala's.However,Omanyala clocked 9.85 seconds to send the Moi Sports centre Kasarani into delirium. Various leaders have congratulated him for making the country pride. After finishing the race,he went straight to the president on the stands where he was allowed to hug him.It is a historic performance for him and it will go down to the books of history.
Kenya could become a powerhouse in short races if Omanyala continues to win against big boys like Fred Kerley of the United States.Do you think Omanyala could beat the world record set by Jamaican fastest man Usain Bolt?.We wish him all the best ahead of the next events.
