For over a decade now, Sweden has been a major destination for Kenyan footballers. Some of the Kenyan footballers who passed through the Swedish leagues include McDonald Mariga, Michael Olunga, Patrick Osiako, Joseph Okumu, Eric Johanna, Ovella Ochieng among many others.Currently, quite a good number of Kenyan footballers are playing their trade in Sweden some of whom include Eric Ouma, Henry Meja and Anthony Wambani.
The latest Kenyan debutant in Sweden is Frank Odhiambo who on Sunday March 27th marked his Djurgarden IF debut.Odhiambo was introduced in the 53rd minute as Djurgarden settled for a 0-2 loss to Honka in a preseason friendly match. This match was Djurgarden's last friendly match before kicking off their 2022 Allsvenskan season campaign on Saturday April 2nd.
Odhiambo joined Djurgarden IF from Kenyan giants Gormahia in January 2022 but suffered a slight finger injury soon after his unvealing at the Swedish side a thing that ruled him out for three weeks delaying his debut. At Swedish Allsvenskan league, he will be set to play against his Kenyan counterparts Eric Ouma and Henry Meja who turn out for AIK club.
Do you think Odhiambo will shine his way up through the Swedish league like Mariga and Olunga? Feel free to share your views on the comment section and remember to share and follow for more news.
