Talking Points As England Relegated In The UEFA Nations League

England crushed out of the UEFA Nations first tier after an infamous 1-0 loss to Italy yesterday. The first half ended up in goalless draw thanks to Giacomo Raspadori who ended up England's dream scoring the only goal in the 68th minute.

Here are talking points after an awful results from the England national team.

Confusion.

There has been confusion on Southgate of late after Ivan Toney was dropped from the 23 man squad despite of his great form in the Premier League. Toney could deputize Harry Kane on the striking position. Also, Saka yesterday was used as a left wing back while Ben Chilwell was left unutilized with Manchester United ace, Luke Shaw.

Maguire effect.

Harry Maguire has been lacking game time for Man United after his poor display for the Red Devils. The center back needs a lot to prove Southgate that he is worth his England call. Maguire was mostly found on no man's land against Gianluca Samacca during the first five minutes of the game.

Southgate under pressure.

On June this year, Gareth Southgate was booed after losing 4-0 to Hungary in Uefa nations League meaning the fans patience could be coming to an end. With just one game away from the World Cup, this is not a proper preparation for the big tournament. England have gone for more than 450 minutes without an open play goal.

Conclusion:

Gareth Southgate and the entire team needs to rethink on their goals once more or else, the manager could end up losing his job prior to the World Cup.
