England's all-time top scorer is set to be back to the field once again months after announcing his official retirement from playing football.He is set to wear the England shirt again as he plays In Soccer Aid for UNICEF.
Rooney managed England side in soccer aid for UNICEF 2020 but at this time he will appear on the field as a player donning his Three Lions number 10 iconic jersey in soccer aid for UNICEF set to be played at Etihad stadium.
He is set to join football legends such as hos former teammates Garry Neville and Paul Scholes, ex- City legendary defender Micah Richards as well as other players who have announced their plans to play the match.
“Pulling on an England shirt is always special, so I’m absolutely delighted to be doing that again in Soccer Aid for UNICEF this September", he said.
He added saying that he enjoyed managing the team that played last year and being around players made him think of lacing his shoes once again.
Patrice Evra, Kelly Smith, Roberto Carlos, David James, Ashley Cole, Emille Heskey and Jamie Redknapp are set to take part as players while while Harry Redknapp is set to take place as World XI team manager and David Seaman as the goalkeeping coach.
