There is no doubt that Victor Wanyama's absence will be felt on 7th of October this year as Kenya plays against Mali. His 14 years international assignment came to an end on 27th September this year. During his tenure as the team captain,Wanyama had a commanding power that was seen in Harambee star's performance being upto standard.
His retirement came in following his omission from the national team by the two subsequent coaches; Ghost Mulee and Engin Firat
Despite the fact that the selected team has new talents and very young players, playing against a team like Mali requires a number of experienced players. The likes of Victor Wanyama and Patrick Matasi among other prominent players would have made a slight better difference. Keeping in mind both Kenya and Mali had a draw in their previous meetings, both teams are looking forward to registering positive results. That's a game to watch!
