World Marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge is the LG/ Sports Journalist Association of Kenya (SJAK) Sports Personality for the month of September.
Kipchoge received the award following his world record-breaking 2:01:09 run at the Berlin Marathon on September 25th, where he lowered his record by 30 seconds to win his fourth title. Kipchoge received a personalized trophy and an LG refrigerator that doubles as a top mount freezer and water dispenser worth Sh150,000. He praised SJAK and LG for consistently recognizing athletes for their outstanding performances.
Kipchoge stated that he will begin his season soon in order to win three gold medals at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. "I have a plan to compete in the remaining major races leading up to the 2024 Olympic Games, where I hope to retain my title for the third time, and I believe next season will be fantastic," he added.
