Man Utd: Van De Beek Faces The Axe From Coach- How Ten Hag Could Reverse Compatriot’s Misfortunes

Louis Van Gaal has reportedly told Donny Van De Beek that he is currently not on his radar for the World Cup competitions that are to start in three months time. According the Dutch National team headcoach, Van De Beek has not shown enough to convince him that he deserves a shot in his squad. He pointed out that since he moved from Ajax, his performances have only spiralled down and even now that Ten Hag is at Manchester United, Van De Beek is again being benched on a regular basis.

“Van De Beek is a good player I can’t deny that. But he has not given the scouts anything to think about this season. The managers that have been at Manchester United have hardly used him. Even Ten Hag who many thought would give Van De Beek more gametime at the club. Until he gives us something to scratch our heads about, I don’t think he will feature in the World Cup.”

Van De Beek has indeed been a no show this season and the reason is best known by Ten Hag. Bruno Fernandes recently revealed that Van De Beek is frustrated by his current situation at the club since he has been putting in a lot of effort in training and the gym but the recognition he gets is not worth guaranteeing him a start in the next game. If bad turns to worse, I think Van De Beek will be sold next summer.

Van De Beek needs more playing minutes to sharpen his gameplay…

The truth of the matter is that the more Van De Beek sits on the bench, the more he comes insipid when he plays and trains. His level of confidence could hit rock bottom in the next few weeks if he is not given proper minutes to prove Van Gaal wrong. Missing the World Cup would be a devastating event for the 24 year old, and if Ten Hag plays a part in it too, he could be even more disappointed about joining Manchester United.

As of my opinion, Van De Beek should leave Manchester United as soon as possible when he gets the chance. Atalanta were recently linked with him but backed off the deal after Ten Hag blocked any further contact with the Dutchman. Van De Beek doesn’t have a place at Manchester United this season nor the next, the best option for him is to leave to a club where he could get constant playing minutes.
