Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has slammed the club's decision to sign Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus and warned that they need somebody who is young and energetic to serve them in the next four years.
Carragher who is now a football pundit, told Sky Sports TV that Liverpool's midfield was leaking thus leaving the defence exposed. Arthur arrived on the deadline day in Anfield from Serie A giants, Juventus.
“I don’t think Arthur is the answer to what Liverpool need in the next three or four years; they need a younger, more energetic player,” he said. But I think Arthur is just to fill a place, that’s why Liverpool bought him late and on loan." Carragher added.
Also, he blasted the Liverpool's scouting team for signing in center backs instead of a defensive midfield. Meanwhile, he revealed that the type of midfielder Liverpool wants is not available that's why they went for Arthur Melo.
