Manchester City managed to grab all the three points yesterday against Chelsea as they looked forward to reduce the gap that's between them and leaders Arsenal.
In that match, it was a game of two halves as both teams created multiple chances in the early minutes of the game. The Blues suffered a blow where their stars, Rahim Sterling and Christian Pulisic were forced to be substituted due to injuries in the 5th and 22nd minute respectively.
The Blues almost found the back of the net with one minute remaining before the end of the first half after Chukweumeka's efforts were denied by the post. In the second half, Pep Guardiola made some crucial changes after he brought on Jack Grealish and Mahrez who ended up changing the whole game.
These two combined well up front after Grealish made a good pass to Mahrez to open the scoring in the 63rd minute. Chelsea tried all means to unlock the Cityzens defence but it remained solid throughout the game.
The Blues brought in Gallagher who almost helped them grab an equalizer where he helped them to create chances upfront. Chelsea ended up dropping points as the cityzens reduced the gap between them and leaders Arsenal to five points. This has made them to keep their title race alive.
In that match, one of the cityzens star who impressed is Mahrez. The Algerian international came off the bench and helped the Cityzens to unlock the Blues solid defence. Mahrez great skulls made it hard for the Blues defenders to stop him.
Thiago Silva and Cucurella have been some of the Chelsea best defenders this season. However yesterday, they found it hard to stop Mahrez who ended up unlocking their solid defence. They both tried all means but Mahrez pace and great skills made it hard for them to stop him.
This now means that Mahrez gave Cucurella and Thiago Silva a headache in yesterday's match.
