CHICAGO FIRE VS DC UNITED.
The Fire have just 11 points to show from 13 games so far but they are unbeaten in their last three home games with two wins and one draw.
Indeed, Chicago’s struggles have largely come on their travels and they are pointless after five games on the road. Raphael Wikcy’s men have a respectable record at their Soldier Field home with 11 points from eight games (W3, D2, L3) and should be able to overcome a DC outfit who are also poor travellers.
The Washington club have just four points to show from their seven away games so far, with one win, one draw and five defeats. The Black and Red have lost their last two away games and their one road win came against an Inter Miami side who have the worst overall record in MLS so we feel this looks a winnable fixture for Chicago.
Goals haven’t necessarily been an issue for DC United as they have at least scored in five of their away fixtures with seven goals in total but their defence is a cause for concern with 12 goals conceded. Chicago’s eight home games have yielded 22 goals in total (12 for, 10 against) and a home win with over 2.5 goals has some appeal here.
The Fire have three goals in two of their last three home games and as DC gave a good account of themselves in a 2-1 defeat at Philadelphia Union over the weekend we fancy the look of a 3-2 win for Chicago fire.
