So Touching: How Didier Drogba Stopped The Civil War In Ivory Coast

Many athletes on the football field are not held in high regard. They only attract attention when they are carrying out their duties or using social media. Contrary to popular belief, Didier Drogba does not fall into that category.

Forward for Chelsea and former captain of the Ivory Coast national team. Drogba has broken several records in the English Premier League.

Didier Drogba is regarded as a national hero because of the following reasons: By scoring the game-winning goal in a 2007 match against Madagascar, Didier Drogba helped bring an end to Ivory Coast's five-year civil war.

He proposed playing the game in Bouake, which was then a major rebel stronghold. After scoring, he knelt and pleaded with the rebels to drop their weapons, and they complied.

This deed put an end to the civil war at that point and has kept it from erupting again to the present day. Didier Drogba will be remembered as the hero who stopped civil wars in his country.
