Arsenal: New Attacking Alliance After Done Deal, Arteta’s Final Decision on Defender

Gabriel Jesus

With Gabriel Jesus now on board, Arsenal will now be focusing on sharpening the attack and ensuring that a chemistry is established between all the attacking players. Unlike Lacazette who was more of a link-player, Jesus is often the target man and that means that he will be in-charge of delivering all the end products next season. There is a slight chance that Mikel Arteta might try a 4-4-2 formation to see whether Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus can play on the same pitch together but that will have to be tentatively experimented in domestic cup competitions.

The other new comers, Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos are also expected to be incorporated into the squad right away and Mikel Arteta is seeing to it that all is ready before next season kicks off. The pre season friendlies will provide a good platform for Arteta to try different attacking combinations.

William Saliba

Arsenal are planning to keep their word on Saliba by giving him a chance to feature next season. The whole squad is currently back in training at Colney and the Frenchman has already joined the entire squad in preparation of the pre season tour that will be both played in Germany and the United States. Arsenal are planning on extending the player’s contract to a long term deal and have made it a point to the player that he will not be leaving for another club in the summer whether on loan or a permanent deal.

This of course is exciting news for the defender but the fact that he will be missing out on the Champions League with Marseille after helping them finish as first runner up in the Ligue 1 will leave a sour taste in his mouth. Arteta wants to ensure that he has all the firepower he needs next season to start on a high ground unlike last season.
