He served as an arsenal captain since taking over in 2008 to 2011. He was also the second youngest captain at the age of 21years old. Fabregas was a real leader and a world class player to who later left to Barca.

Robin Van Persie.

After the departure of fabregas to Barca, Van Persie took over the gunners armband. He served in the season 2011-2012 where was his best skipper prior to his best individual season. He left to Manchester united in search of the premier league tittle.

Thomas vermaelen.

After the departure of Robin, varmaelen took over as the gunners armband holder in 2012 to 2014. Thomas was injury prone and had a bad ran of form. He later flew from the gunners to Barca to try his career from the Catalonia side.

Mikel Arteta

Mikel took over the armband after the exit of Thomas from 2014- 2016. Mikel was a world class midfielder but was injury prone. He old featured for arsenal as a captain in 26 matches in two seasons. He later retired as a player and joined pep at the Etihad as his assistant coach. In 2019 he later returned to the emirates as a coach.

Per mertesacker

Per was a Germany international man. He took the gunners armband from Arteta in 2016-till 2018. He was injury prone in the gunners squad. He retired after featuring for arsenal in two seasons and joined the arsenal technical bench.

Laurent koscielny

Laurent was France international who usually played as centre back.he took the armband from per in 2018 until 2019. Laurent missed half a season as an arsenal captain. He left on good will after losing the Europa league final to Chelsea in a 4-1 defeat.

Granit Xhaka

Xhaka is a midfielder who plays for both arsenal and the Switzerland national team. Granit is the shortest serving arsenal captain after the departure of sir Henry. He gained the captain role in August 2019 and stripped away in November 2019 after a mouthed outburst with the arsenal fans. Xhaka is still an arsenal player and has stood for captain role in many accasions.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang known as Auba gained the captain after the stripping of Xhaka back in 2019. He has been arsenal captain for two seasons until 2021 where the armband was stripped away due to indiscipline issues. He later joined barca in the January 2022 transfer window.

Alexandre Lacazette.

Laca has been the arsenal captain since Dec in 2021 following the Auba stripping to date. Laca has played for the gunners in a number of matches but of recent he haven't been starting hence the captain role being given to Martin odergaard.
