Africa's First WWE Talent Search Will Take Place In This African Country Starting On These Dates

Wrestling is a popular sport in African countries, even in rural places. In Senegal, it is even more popular and preferred than football. This sport is synonymous with the culture and origin of many African countries. It is the only sport that truly depicts African culture and tradition. World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), in conjunction with its Sub-Saharan Africa broadcast partner, SuperSport, has announced its talent search for WWE Superstars in African countries.

WWE is embarking on a talent search across the African continent. Planting stronger roots in Africa is part of the WWE's overall renewed globalization strategy to leverage new talent to grow internationally. First alluded to during the recent news of their new media rights deal in Africa, WWE announced the launch of their first talent search. Africa's first WWE talent search will take place in Lagos, Nigeria in February 2023. Nigerian-American WWE Superstars, Omos and Apollo Crews visited Nigeria ahead of the tryout.
