"I cannot wait to play at Old Trafford," Ronaldo speaks for the first time since joining United

Christiano Ronaldo's re-signing is the probably the biggest event to ever grace the premier league. On Friday 27th August, United announced they had reached an agreement with Juventus for the 36-year-old forward to return to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo had a successful run with United between years 2003 and 2009 where he scored 118 goals in 292 games, winning three Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup and two League Cups.

Speaking for the first time since rejoining the club, Ronaldo said it was his dreams to rejoin the club and it was where his heart belonged. "Manchester United is a club that has always had a special place in my heart, and I have been overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since the announcement on Friday," Christiano Ronaldo.

The player also expressed his delight and anxiety to return back to the Old Trafford stadium and play again for United. "I cannot wait to play at Old Trafford in front of a full stadium and see all the fans again. I'm looking forward to joining up with the team after the international games, and I hope we have a very successful season ahead," Ronaldo.

Manchester United agreed to pay €15m (£12.9m) plus a further €8m (£6.9m) in add-ons. As a United fan, I say welcome back Christiano!
