However, Corinthians have tabled a whopping 55.4 million monthly salary for Michael Olunga if he decides to join them.If Michael Olunga decides to join them,he will become the highest paid Kenyan player at the moment. With Wanyama currently taking home a mouthwatering 20 million Kenyan shillings effectively from 2023 January after he renewed his contract with Montreal Impact, Olunga could overtake the 31 year old former Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder.

On the other hand,former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama decided to renew his contract with Montreal Impact in a move that saw him pen a new deal worthy two years.However,the midfielder had to reduce his salary from around 35 million Kenyan shillings to 20 million Kenyan shillings, according to trusted reports, Wanyama reduced his salary with more than 14 million Kenyan shillings. He had initially announced that he was departing Montreal Impact before he reached an agreement to continue with the side in December 2022.The midfielder will now stay with the side for the next two years.At the age of 31 years,Wanyama is still enjoying some playing time with Montreal Impact.Whether he continues to play until he reaches his peak remains dependent on his body response. Just like the likes of Luka Modric who is still playing for Real Madrid at the age of 37 years and Ronaldo still playing at the age of 39 years at Al Nasri in Saudi Arabia.
