Official: Premier League Approves Chelsea Takeover

Following several weeks of talks between Premier League giants, Chelsea and football authority, FA, over a potential takeover of the London club, the federation has now approved the proposed changes with Todd Boehly now given the authority to take charge.

"The Premier League Board has today approved the proposed takeover of Chelsea Football Club by the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Consortium. The purchase remains subject to the Government issuing the required sale licence and the satisfactory completion of the final stages of the transaction.

"Chelsea FC will now work with the relevant Governments to secure the necessary licences to complete the takeover."

This now gives the Thomas Tuchel's side the hope of potentially completing new signings after they were barred from making transfers weeks ago following the sanctioning of previous owner, Roman Abramovich.

As being reported by multiple sources, the new owners are looking to invest heavily in the squad with Sevilla's Jules Kounde as well as Paris Saint-Germain winger, Neymar Jr already being linked with a potential move to the Stamford Bridge.
