Months after smashing his own world record record in Men 42km senior marathon at the streets of Berlin, a sensational race that brought together hundreds of long distance runners, an event that attracted millions of marathon fans who clued into their Television, Eliud Kipchoge has finally made to top 5 list of world athletics athlete of the year award.

Kipchoge who is the first marathon sportsman to run under sub two hour, record breaker and holder of double Olympic gold medal in a row has been on top performance in the marathon field for quite long now and his nomination to the top list is deserving considering the level of passion he has for his career.

Apart from Kipchoge making into the list other five athletes made to the final list with the Nandi born man facing alot of stiff competition from 800 metres giant Jakob Ingerigtsen, USA Noah Tyles, Mondo Duplantis of Sweden and Soufiane El Bakkali the Morrocian 3000M Steplechase winner of the 2022 Tokyo Olympics senior men category.
