Chelsea football club and Barcelona winger are close to agreeing on personal terms. The process has been complicated in the last three days after other teams emerged and wanted to sign the player.
Undisclosed reports indicate that Chelsea is assessing the situation and there is progress between the two clubs to sign the winger permanently. There were reports that two premier league clubs would be his destination. These are Chelsea and Manchester United. Ousmane Dembele is out of contract with Barcelona and the club doesn't have plans for him, hence would be keen to offload him to save on finances that have become a problem for this club.
Chelsea seeks to use this chance to secure his signature and add him to their squad. With Chilwell sidelined for the rest of the season and Reece James' injury, they would be boosted if they land on him. As we move towards the transfer deadline, we expect surprise signings as has been witnessed in the past.
